Our Leadership

Entharo Mahanu Bavulu Mi Anthari Na Vandanamulu,

Namaskaramu dear TAM family,

Firstly, I would like to wish all our members a happy 59th Independence day. We are fortunate enough to maintain our Telugu culture and language in the country without any hindrance. TAM had played a key role in uniting our Telugu Community .The community has evolved progressively from an agriculture and labour dependent to self-employed and professional community. Although we had progressed forward economically, we are still not on par with other communities in Malaysia.

TAM is a respected NGO formed to protect and propagate Telugu language and culture in Malaysia.

Today, TAM is playing a key role in developing young graduates through its educational wing of TAM Foundation. It gives out financial assistance to all needy students to accomplish their dreams. We were fortunate enough to get some financial grant from the Malaysian government previously. However due to political uncertainties we are unable to secure any financial grants this year.

Dear members, it is time for us all to stand on our own feet with pride and dignity. It is time we take care of our own needs financially. TAM through its foundation has launched a simple community contribution scheme. We request working individuals including those in the community who can afford to contribute a minimum RM1 per day for the community. Through this scheme with minimal effort we can support all our aspiring students to accomplish their dreams. We will also have sufficient funds to conduct language and cultural activities.

I am glad and thankful to all those who are already contributing to this scheme. I am confident we will be able to collect at least RM50 million within the next ten (10) years. Once we are sound financially we can plan all our activities without depending on others for funds. This will also give us self-respect and confidence. I want to see our community grow as a forward-looking community with a capacity to negotiate with the government and demand for our needs and rights.

Meanwhile, I would like to thank the Vengkateswara Temple management for conducting daily activates and weekly ‘Anadhanam’ scheme at the temple. We are also aware of the steady increase in pilgrims and devotees to the temple from other parts of the country. In view of the current needs TAM has bought a rest-house near the temple for the pilgrims and devotees convenience.

Finally, I would like to thank all TAM branches for their services, dedication and loyalty to TAM. You have been very persistent in conducting Telugu classes weekly. You are truly a success story of TAM. I am also happy with the Youth and Women wings contribution towards both at branch and national level.
